Abstract
This study examines two different methods of counting active fiber bundles in the microcirculatory tissue of the brain: manual counting and a method based on image processing techniques. The manual counting method involves the visual identification and counting of active fiber bundles, while the image processing technique involves the use of spatial filtering, thresholding, and object identification algorithms to automatically count the active fiber bundles. The two methods are compared using data from experiments conducted on laboratory rats. The results show that the image processing technique provides a more objective and efficient way of counting active fiber bundles compared to the manual counting method, with the added benefit of providing additional quantitative information about the characteristics of the active fiber bundles. The image processing method is also less labor-intensive and time-consuming than the manual counting approach.
